Much like his father and grandfather, Jonathan Swift is a natural behind the wheel, racing desert. When he was only 2-months old, his father, John took him to his first Baja 1000 race and it was apparent from that very moment that Jonathan had the same race-winning genetics that led to his forefathers’ success. Jonathan started out around 10 or 12 years old, working in the race shop, sweeping, cleaning   and helping out any way he could. Being a remarkably quick learner, Jonathan soon made his way behind the wheel and in 2004 he surprised everyone, claiming his first victory, at the age of 15, in a class-3 BITD race. A young man, clearly ahead of his time, in 2005, Jonathan went on to win the Class 7 Championship. It’s quite astonishing to witness a 16-year old drive with more confidence and skill than most well seasoned 30-year-olds in the sport. Jonathan’s strong focus and determination are rapidly making him an icon in the sport of desert racing. If Jonathan is not pushing the new Swift Ranger to the limit, he’s probably focusing on schoolwork, playing water polo or working as a 4H-Farmer.
